Hi Arachnids I have not used soie ovale but it sounds very much like Pipers floss. I enjoy using floss for Bucks point and for coloured Bucks. Certainly the filaments catch on any roughness on your fingers and it fluffs if you have to go into reverse, just moisten it slightly and press the fibres together. I like the way the filaments spread and fill clothwork areas evenly and close up when twisted, giving a fine ground.
