OK, but I really wish the help files worked. They do not, because
I'm not insane enough to use Infernal Exploiter as a browser & I
was told that was required. Not sure if that's true, but if so, I
assume Panasonic fell into the Radioactive X waste pond or such...

David -

I can't help much with the other questions but - the TVA needs to see an
SMTP server on the Lan in order to send mail. Panasonic did not include
one which I think was a stupid idea. And there are no logs.
And you gotta have the IP adderss of the smtp server not the "web"
address (like smtp.yourdomain.com).
*I have the client get this info for me and I just put in the IP of the
smtp server. Usually works first time.
My first time, I installed one of the free smtp servers off of
download.com on my PC and tested it that way but I've gotten lazy.

BTW - If you are having the system send out the actual message, I
suggest that you do *not* have the TVA automatically delete that message
when it sends it via email - as a backup. Make the client delete their
own messages.

The help files are html based and will open in any browser - I tried
Firefox and it works fine (just faster) <wink>
I use help search page which is installed to the following place on your
computer (YMMV) C:\Program Files\Panasonic\KX-TVA Maintenance
Console\Help\English\data\search.htm
It will bring up links for the Programming, Feature, Installation, and
Subscribers manuals all on one page. No more guessing which place to go.

Hope this helps,
- Mark
