After almost 20 years of using a KX-T61610 system at home, today I
upgraded to a KX-TA824, along with some new KX-T7731 sets.

My main motivation for upgrading was to be able to get Caller ID / Call
Waiting information at all sets. Yet this is the one feature that is
not working reliably.

On some calls it works; on most, it does not. I listen in with my butt
set, and on most of the calls, I hear the alert tone sent, but no data
is ever transmitted. I'm not familiar enough with the sounds to know
if the 824 is sending its response back or not, so I don't know why the
data is not being sent down the line. When I hear the data stream on
the line, I do always get it at the phone.

The results are the same with both my telco line and a VoIP line
provided through a local ATA, so I can't blame the telco.

I did set 914 to "Mode 1", the most liberal setting, but it doesn't
seem to have helped much, if at all.

The one thing I do notice is that it is far more likely to work when
the current call was an incoming call. It never works if the current
call is one I dialed.

I'm open to any ideas. Thanks...
