Jim, I'm glad I'm not the only one seeing this. I have the problem on every TA824 I've installed. Your results are exactly what my customers are seeing - more likely to fail on outgoing calls than incoming, etc.
My buttset has Call Waiting CID with checksum and it verifies that the telco is sending the info and the checksum is correct everytime. The buttset displays the Call Waiting CID info flawlessly. The 824's play the tone every time but won't display the info. I'm currently excalating this through Panasonic tech support. They have sent me a firmware upgrade, but it does not fix the problem. I'll post any information I get. Please do the same. I did set 914 to "Mode 1", the most liberal setting, but it doesn't seem to have helped much, if at all. The one thing I do notice is that it is far more likely to work when the current call was an incoming call. It never works if the current call is one I dialed. I'm open to any ideas.
