Thanks Paul,

the problem isn't with number of ports on the vm.

its a problem with the dual d1232 cabinets and one tvs. when they
loose sync, the users on the slave can no longer access the tvs100
on the master ports until the system is shut down and restarted.

it would be great to put a second tvs100 on the slave ports. that
way when the cabinets loose sync the master users still use the
orig tvs, and the folks on the slave would be on the second tvs
on the slave ports.

my post wasn't very good, i was doing too much "thinking out loud"
when i was composing the note. i don't think there is any solution,
i need to go thru the manuals again. i don't think i can have a tvs
port on the slave of a master/slave pair.

i'm also considering just spliting the pair and run them separately,
each with it's own tvs. i can put two co/ext ties between the systems
so they can "intercom" each other. they will loose the use of OHCA
between systems. sure fixes the sync problem.

actually, i can't get a tvs100, they are obsolete ;-)

this all seemed like a good idea at the time.
