Larry:

If you have used up all of the DPITS channels on a KX-TV100, have you
considered upgrading to a KX-TV2yz. These have 3 slots for boards to
connect with up to 6 DPITS ports (12 simultaneous conversations). The
KX-TV3yz allow even more connections.

BTW: The later KX-TVxyz models allow the ports to behave differently
depending on the CO line being answered, so one does not have to
dedicate ports to each business. You might achieve some improvement
by upgrading the KX-TVS100 to a KX-TVS125.

Subject: KX-T: two dpits tvs on one kxtd?

from the first lab testing i did with kxtd and tvs using digital
integration, i know that the dpits data stream
happens on the first, lowest jack the kxtd finds that has a tvs connection.

but i never tested a second tvs on the same box, and put it in a
second extension group to see if the kxtd would
find the second box. anyone in the group try it? (ok - won't
happen, vm common control is a single process, no
process for second box)

maybe someone has another brilliant idea. problem is a dual 1232-4
maxed out serving two departments. i already
have all of dept 1 co's and stations on the master with a tvs100
4port, and all of dept 2 co's and stations on the
slave. about twice a year they loose power, longer than my 9 hours of
backup battery, and when power returns during
work hours, the cabinets won't resync. they at least can each do
business (other than intercoming each other) but
the loss of the vm to dept 2 is a big problem since the link is gone
(the master and slave do work fine
independently).

not options: replacing cpus to -5 or higher (they almost hung me when
i upgraded the cabs from -3 to -4 and the
7436/56 set features changed - these are all power users and their
checks depend on these sets). and nwih will i
consider tva or tda, tda smells way too much like the 336, problems
never solved in 10 years. restarting systems
during work hours is a real problem, so much station programming, it
takes five minutes for the master to reload the
slave. too much lost business.

a second tvs would be a perfect fix. at least they love the system
and all it's features.

could talk to the building engineer about adding safe bsttery storage
or a feed from building emergeny power (that
everyone else wants too, 277v is fun to deal with ;-)
