That can't be right. (everything else seems correct though) I use xdp ports all the time for all kinds of things without a digital phone. I took over a D1232-1 that was using the Pana TVP150 on xdp ports 221-222-223-224. It was working fine, at least the ports were working fine... I could see using analog vm if someone had a maxed out system on digital extensions and didn't need/want any special features as mentioned. Purely because you should be able to use the xdp without bothering the digital phones. Occasionally I see some features that we wish the TVS would have. => dial by first AND last name... and multiple name spellings (jon, john, smith, smythe) => secondary greeting menus for closings/ holidays easily turned on/off by users => secondary mailbox greetings ----- Original Message ----- From: "Randy" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: "Panasonic help" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Sent: Wednesday, October 02, 2002 10:32 PM Subject: Re: KX-T: VM setup- hint > ...and changing the system to NIGHT ring doesn't change the voicemail > greeting > ...and changing the system clock does not affect the voicemail clock > ...and getting each line to answer with a different greeting can be > bothersome > ...and using FOUR analog ports instead of TWO digital ports (don't remove > the digital phone if using XDP on the analog vmail ports!) > ...and not storing Caller ID info with the message > ...and paying more per port > ...and, well, you get the idea > > So far the only good reason that I have found to use another manufacturer's > vmail on a Panasonic DSHS is to use Centrex to off-net transfer a caller. > Panasonic's voicemail does not do this real well or readily.
