...and changing the system to NIGHT ring doesn't change the voicemail
greeting
...and changing the system clock does not affect the voicemail clock
...and getting each line to answer with a different greeting can be
bothersome
...and using FOUR analog ports instead of TWO digital ports (don't remove
the digital phone if using XDP on the analog vmail ports!)
...and not storing Caller ID info with the message
...and paying more per port
...and, well, you get the idea

So far the only good reason that I have found to use another manufacturer's
vmail on a Panasonic DSHS is to use Centrex to off-net transfer a caller.
Panasonic's voicemail does not do this real well or readily.  Other systems
do.

Just my 2 cents...

BTW, you can still have a mailbox on phones that directly access the Custom
Service Message--just tell the Class Of Service for those mailboxes to not
have direct mailbox access.
