1st message from a newbie, working hard to be a veteran!
I have just installed a KX-TD816, with a TVS-110 voicemail system. I also purchased the Programator & VoiceMailMaster software for programming. Although I am having trouble with some of the VMM sub-categories (comes up with comm error when trying to access port settings or day/night settings), the parts that are working got me most of the way. Using terminal mode got me the rest of the way. I have a few 'challenges' (no problems here!), and will rely on the wealth of knowledge that resides in this list. 1) The client wanted the voicemail to back up a live operator, only giving prompts when someone is transferred into a voicemail. There are 5 phones in the office, and all of the people are equals; ie, they all answer the phone. When a person calls in day mode, the system will ring about 5 times before the caller gets the company greeting. At that point they may dial an extension or press 1-5 for the specific employees. That's all cool. The problem is when employee #1 answers, the call is for employee #2, who's out to lunch or something, and a transfer to voicemail is needed. When #1 transfers to ext of #2, the call times out and returns to #1. What we need to happen is a redirect to voicemail after the allotted # of rings. 2) Whe you call in during NIGHT mode, and choose an ext # (whether by direct dial or choosing from menu), teh ext rings 3 times, and then system prompt asks you to press 1 to leave message, or dial another ext. What we need to happen is to have call go directly to voicemail after 3 rings. Well, that's about it! I sure would appreciate any help you could lend. Have a Happy New Year!
