I am running 4.00 x 5 on my Kr. My kr is plans built so it is fairly light by
now days standards. When I fly my take off weight is around 800 lbs by myself.
My tires are 8 ply and I run them at 50 to 55 PSI.
I had a lot for trouble early on when I was running 35 PSI with 6 ply. They
would go flat for discernible reason. When I would pull the tubes out and
inflate them, I could not find a leak. When I started buying the 8 ply tires
and inflating them to 50 PSI my problems went away. I also started using the
Leakguard inner tubes, (Shouldn’t any inner tube be leak proof?), form Aircraft
Spruce.

Subject: KRnet> Tires change

Hi all,
To reduce some weight I am lookig for lightweight tires (every ounce I can save
is a bit). So I came up with the idea probably to change my tires ( so I have
also some spare)
I have a 5.00-5 on the main gear and on the nose gear I have 3.40/3.00.
Maybe I can safe some weight to use for 4 ply instead of 6 ply

Do some of you have ( cheap) tips? I hope you have.
Many thanks

Stef
