If the pilot was in the left seat then wasn't cg left of center? Would that give the right wing the longer distance to cg than the left wing?
Longer arm = higher torque from lift on that side? Also the original landing gear design (in retracted mode) make the space between gear to spar attachment points virtually inflexible thanks to the spring bar paralleling (doubling) the center spar in loading against bending, flexing. Doesn't that concentrate the bending load at the outside spring bar mounts? Off center cg and lack of flexation inboard of the starboard spring bar to spar attach point would put the failure right where it happened. no? I ripped the wings of a few rc planes by over load. Accidental and intentional. I am pretty sure you can rip the wings off just about any plane if you yank and bank hard enough. jg ________________________________ -Please see LIST RULES and KRnet info at http://www.krnet.org/info.html -Change list delivery options at https://list.krnet.org/list/krnet.list.krnet.org/ Affinity List Info Board -Search recent KRnet Archives at https://list.krnet.org/empathy/list/krnet.list.krnet.org/ -Search John Bouyea's decades of archive at https://www.mail-archive.com/krnet@list.krnet.org/
