For whoever's intrest I've attached Ken Cottle's Spec Sheet that lies among the many other papers and documents having to do with his build of N335KC I mis-remembred his G-limit in an earlier mail. Appears to be +7 both positive and negative.
I don't fly aerobatically, not casually in any case. Threre's a lot of stuff stored in pockets various places and to take a plane up to work it out it needs to be ".clean". Steep and fast descnts and sharp bank angles are the closest I've gotten to aerobatics. With my first KR I recall doing a loop or two but that was when I was more careless. My wings feel tight and solid in turbulence and that's a good feeling. Those "thumps" can really get your attention. The airfoil gives a wide margin for stall so in that sense the wings are gentle while at the same time being strong where it counts. Diehl's skins are as smooth and new as if he'd produced them yesterday. Pics: In any event, it's the tail that fails first in most in-flight break-ups. Pictures I've taken (3 or 4) https://1drv.ms/u/s!Au6bGVdsjGkwhljt1NAQceLIy1oA https://1drv.ms/u/s!Au6bGVdsjGkwhlm8W4-56GbJ40Lt Spcs: https://1drv.ms/u/s!Au6bGVdsjGkwhmdlxkaZuLjpK724 https://1drv.ms/u/s!Au6bGVdsjGkwhmaDEPmnd9zKO66r Ken's figurse are based on the 1835 HAPI he originally installed. When he sold it to Steve Steve put the 2180 with the Ellison on. I ordered the TailbeaconX and AV-30 EXP today along with a Wi-Fi unit that fits the AV-30 Exp. It won't transmit to the Garmin 660, my dream navigator, but I think there's some other good second-rate choices out there. I sure like the Garmin 660 though. I still have thoughts of flying the coastal route to Merrill Field in Anchorge and down south (Mexico) when the weather is cool. ThisTailbaconX unit gives me freedom to roam the world. The position light is on a separate power (schismatics) wire so since I plan to mount the AV-30-EXP inside the fuelage there's no need for a light except occasionally. Maybe there's a way to hack Uvionix wi-fi to Garmin.wi-fi & vice versa. I'll ask Elon . Asking the group . . . are there any navigators out there as excellent as the Garmin 660 (excepting the Garmin 770? - a mite too big for my small space)? Please . . . nobody say Apple. I know it and Foreflight are amazing - when they're on.
