Doesn't 11 show the "fragments" "re-assembled" (i.e., covering the WAF
areas) with the outer wing upside down? Reference the band covering
the gap between the outer wing and center/inboard spar sections. Or
maybe I'm making the wrong assumption. It looks like the center spar
under the pilot wasn't a clean fracture... note the control stick and
remains of the gear brace.

After looking again figure 11 is the debris in figure 9 laid back on the
debris in figure 8. Figure 11 show what looks to me like clean breaks
on the end of the spars just inside the fuselage. Note the slight lines
and change of color at the ends. This to me is where the spars entered
the fuselage and are glue lines, etc. . As figure 11 was located away
from the crash site minus the wheel faring it appears to be a clean
break with other damage shown like center stick could be impact damage.
Figure 8 shows the spars from fuselage outboard to the WAF's. Figure 8
is an end view and doesn't show as clean a break as the same end in
figure 11.
I guess we'll have to wait for the inspectors to report. I hope they
can give us a better idea of EXACTLY where the spar(s) failed in
flight. Seems like the failure could have been close to the landing
gear bracket on the right side.
