There is a metal case available for those batteries which might be a good option.  It is a same color case that fits very tight and only increases the size of the battery by about 1/16" on each side.  The part number followed by "MJ" indicates metal jacket. https://www.odysseybattery.com/Batteries/Model_PC680MJ  .  I'm lucky and get them at cost from the battery store where I work (hang out with pay).
