Folks have had good luck with O-200s, according to info on the net.... 
So the 235 should work well...

OTOH, parts are MUCH more expensive than corvair parts, and you would 
need  a custom engine mount (a/o being able to buy prefab mounts 
designed for mounting either the corvair or VW motors to a KR)
