We are not using prepreg with honeycomb anymore so our turtle decks can be stretched and used for our 2" wider fastbuild fuselages. They now have a foam core with a wet layup and vaccuum bagged.

You need to be really good friends to fly in a KR2! Having said that, if you widen the fuselage you will not be able to use the pre- made turtledeck parts from Steve Glover ( Rand top deck kit) without some serious modification as they do not stretch at all. If you are going to scratch build everything then I would go with at least 4 inches wider for comfort. You will be glad you did. I am interested in this plane for 2 and would like any feedback on comfort for 2. I notice other cockpits are wider but like the KR design most. Any input would be appreciated.
