Lot of talk around cabin width and such. Yesterday, I happened across a December 2006 copy of Sport Aviation. It had a feature article on the KR community which high lighted Mark Langfords KR. I took this copy with me to read as I was antisipated a long wait for a meeting.
I think this article would well serve anyone who is considering building a KR or any 2 place experimental. (if you can get a copy) For those wondering about how wide to make the cockpit, or horizonal stabilizer or enigine or whatever, I think they would be well worth their time to read this article and look at what Mark L.and Mark J. and a few others have already done. Those mentioned and some not mentioned in this article have done a lot of teeth cutting to build what ML called the next generation KR2. I agree. At this years KR Gathering, I had the chance to take a longer closer look at Mark Jones (Deer Slayer) KR2S. I could not help but notice how nice his wider cabin was. As I stood there on crutches I was nearly drooling with envy over how comfortable his wider KR looked. I do not want to take away from anyone else who did a lot to get the KR where it is today. ( Like Larry Fleshers 0-200 powered KR) I am just trying to say, if you are wondering what to build and how to build a KR, look at Mark Langfords if you want it tail dragger style,or Mark Jones if you want a nose dragger. They did a lot of homework to build the ultimate fast comfortable cross country dependable and best bang for the buck 2 place airplane. just my 2 cents Jeff York KR-2 Lexington/ Georgetown Scott County Airport for 2012 ----- Original Message ---- From: "rdrace...@aol.com" <rdrace...@aol.com> To: kr...@mylist.net Sent: Thu, October 14, 2010 12:12:13 AM Subject: Re: KR> KR2 cockpit I have a standard KR2S. I agree with all about the narrow hip space, but as I am not a large person (68" 180lbs) I haven't run into trouble yet with width.
