You know, I just re-read my earlier post and I did say mechanical "DRUM" brakes. I ment to say mechanical "DISC" brakes is what I now have, sorry. Anyway, I think what I'm trying to do is come up with a shopping list for new builders (and myself) to help them quickly through the process of buying and installing quality (not necessarily the most expensive) brakes. The list as I have it now is.......
(1) set- C-90 Hydraulic Disc Brakes for Cessna-Style Gear. (2) 5 x 3 inch tristar wheel, for 5/8" axle. (2) Sawtooth Tread Tire with Tube 410-350 x 5". (2) Cessna-style chromoly axles Model 5-63. Stephen Henderson say's that all of these can be purchased from www.tracyobrien.com I'm am told for about $460.00 which includes shipping. These brakes along with Dan Diehl's main gear kit should provide a light, good quality main gear set-up for the new builder to copy and there-by save them some building time hopefully. But wait! were not done yet. We still need "Master cylinders". Heel or Toe? What brand and model # is a good choice? From whom? I would like to add this list to my original post of "Commonly used KR spec's" for the new builder and your input is highly regarded.
