I just picked up 2 sets of fiberglass springs from Astro vans. The size and
weight seems right, and the price was outstanding.($50 set) I bought 2 sets
because I want to drop test 1 set at increasing g forces till they break. Can
anyone help with the method for a drop test, as well as standards to meet. I
have an old KR fuselage with spar which I will add weight to and drop. I intend
to weld up some brackets. If anyone has plans (CAD file?) for these, I would
love to have them. I will test over Christmas, when my son will be home from
engeneering school. I will put all resilts either promising or disapointing on
the net for all to enjoy. In researching the KRnet archives, I found references
to someone having done all this, but did not find the results. If they exist,
that would be great to read also. More to come.
