I don't see the cables rubbing as being a problem, but to be sure that it
wasn't, I slit a piece of plastic tube down one side and slipped it over one
of the cables.  If you have not installed the cable end yet, you can just
slip on a section of tubing.  When you get the cables attached and can
determine where they will rub thru the range of motion, fix them to the
cable by squirting a little hot glue in each end of the tube.

where I was showing the static system.

I have decided to go with Mark L's system for the elevator linkages with a
combination of rods & cables. However I have one area of concern. If you use
shackles both ends to attach the cables to the bellcranks, the cables rub at
the centre where they cross, is this acceptable or is there another way
round it?
