Netters, I read a thread a ways back about somebody landing with a flat tire. Well Today I flew up to Winslow AZ to look at a KR2 for a guy in MN. On the way back I was beat up with the turbulent air. I was cleared for a straight in on 22R Chandler. I came in slow and say that there were 3 planes ready for T/O. I had a nice soft landing, and after I lost some speed went to lower the tail and get on the brakes, when all heck broke loose. The left tire went flat and started to veer left, I had all right in and I was able to keep close to center. I stoped real quick on one flat tire. Tower called and asked if I was OK and radioed for assistance. I pulled the plane off the runway and accross a dirt area to the taxiway. Tower had everybody go to 22L. They did thank me for pulling it off the runway though. 1 dolly later and a pull to the hangar and the day was over. My question now is Aircrft Spruce and Wicks have tires that might be better. A/S has on page 231 a tire that is a replacement tire for the 3.4 x 3 x 5 that I have right now but I'm not sure is the 11.4 x 5 will work. Wicks has it on page292, 293 I would like a better tire and a better looking tire. Could somebody reply off-net to give me some help to decide?????
