In case of one or two brake failure, sure would be nice to have a backup plan 
to save your plane, save a person, save your pocket book when you nail an 
expensive airplane sitting minding it's own business.
  An old plane converted to nose steering saved me once when the old Good Year 
brakes totally failed in it, without steering there would have been a huge mess.
