One of the big advantages to the O-200 and the C-85 is that you can really
rev them up and get more power out them. I run my O-200 at 3,400 and I know
people running them over 4,000 all day. I am not sure if the Lyc can handle
that and I have not heard of anyone trying.

The best thing about the O-235 is that it has a 2,600 hour TBO and they
normally make it to TBO and beyond. One of their disadvantages is that the
cylinders are around $1,300 each where the Continentals are under $800.

Reports that I have heard from guys who have installed an O-235 in Zodiac
601s are that it is a dog engine. For its weight it does not come close to
the HP that the O-200 delivers. Also several A&Ps have stated that most
O-235s don't actually deliver their rated HP after they get alittle age on
them. Yet look at Larry F's O-200 or Troy's O-85 hotrod.

If you can afford it, I don't think you could go wrong with an O-200 or
O-235. The three fastest KR2s that I know of all use o-200's (Shirley's is
a KR1 powered by a 3300cc Jabiru). I don't know of one running an O-235,
but that doesn't mean it wouldn't work just fine too.
