Larry,
Will do. I have done some testing at altitude but not enough to
be totally confident in them and their behavior. I am out of commission
for a couple days. The wind and rain forecast stinks for the next several
days and I did tweak the nose strut. Dan Diehl is putting one in the mail
tomorrow morning..
I got some other advise from Dan while I was talking to him. For
anyone that is using the wheel pants that are from RandRobinson I had
noticed cracking in the paint around the mounting screw. He said this is
typical of gelcoat fiberglass parts where stress is applied. He
recommended floxing a 2" alum. backer on the inside and glassing over it
for the mounting area. This should take care of the stress cracking
around the mounting screw. This is probably a good practice for any pant.
I had tried one of the creature comforts of my KR the other
morning. The out side temp was about 30 deg. in the air. I opened the
cabin heat valve. It is not hooked directly to a heat muff yet but it got
enough heat out of the cowl to keep me nice and comfortable.
Thanks to everyone for the help recently.
