I prefer the cable run around system because I don't like the idea of the 
pedals operating independantly of each other.  When one is depressed, there may 
be no tension on the other side.  Have you ever flown a plane that operated 
that way?  
I put a turn buckle on a cable between the rudder pedals and a turn buckle on 
each rudder cable.  That way I can keep them taught and properly adjusted.  If 
there ever is "slop" in a cable, you are opening yourself up for flutter.

I am certain that your results will vary.
