Peter, I have the tension springs on my rudder pedals connected from the pedal to the firewall. I have 56.2 flying hours with this set up and have had no problems. The springs keep the cables just taught enough to compensate for any cable stretch which might occur and also will center the rudder if you remove your feet from the pedals (of course air pressure would center the rudder on the pulley run around system). Personally, I prefer this over the pulley run around system. It is your choice.

Have you any opions on the merits of return springs on the pedals against a cable run around?
