I scarfed a chunk of plywood to put on the side of the aircraft and marked the
lines for glue and for staples. The lines on both sides matched but when I
glued the piece and the stringers up, I laid the piece down very carefully to
match up the glue lines. Somewhere between laying down the plywood and getting
the staple gun and the nylon cord for the staples, the plywood moved about a
half inch forward. one leg of the staples hit the stringers and it glued down
very well but at the scarf, the wood is of the longerons about a 1/16th of an
inch. Not Good. I want to take out about six inches of the plywood including
the scarf. I think I can do this woth a hacksaw blade holder and then scarf the
one side and lay in a 6 inch piece scarfed on both edges. I guess I'll have to
put in another upright piece at the scarf joint also. Does this sound right or
should I try to take out the whole piece of plywood and redo the side. Has
anyone run into this problem? Is there something, (Acetone) that will softenthe
T-88 so I can get the side off
