NetHeads, This is getting addictive. Three trips to the airport, four more hours on the clock, and 8 more landings. An hour before sunset I flew down to Guntersville Airport, a cool little strip on the lake. It was a nice little cross country so I could practice those skills, operating the GPS, leaning, and listening to that smooooooth engine hummmmmm along. At the end I got a couple of "night" landings in, and positively greeeeeased 'em on in the smooth air. Next weekend I'm going to land at Guntersville, and the 2300 foot grass strip at Moontown as well. I was tempted today, but didn't do it. I'm up to about 17 hours now.
I talked to my father tonight, and he's sinking some tie downs for me at his 3600 ft grass strip down in L.A. (Lower Alabama). That's a four hour frustrating drive turned into about a pleasurable 1.2 hour flight, and with 50% better fuel mileage than my VW gets! I think I'm hooked on this already...
