I keep my aircraft at Skylark Field which is the new name for the old
Killeen Municipal airport in Killeen, Texas. The rent is $150.00 and I have
been on the list for a hanger for about 5 months now. When I hear what the
rent is in some of the towns around here I think it's cheap here and when and
if I ever get a hanger I plan to share it with a friend who has a beautiful
little KR2. My bird is a high wing and his is a low wing so I don't think we
will have any trouble fiting them in.
I came here from California when I retired for the second time and there
was a waiting list then and still is. There is a very real need for more
hangers here but the city councel chose to spend milions on the Golf course
which is right next to the airport and zero on the airport. I have heard that
a good many of the city councel members play golf but none of them fly. Do you
guys think this fact might have something to do with what the money gets spent
on??????????????????????????????
