Put them on a battery. They will probably work fine. >>>>>>>>>>>>>
Most of this has already been said in different responses. However, battery chargers come in many configurations - only the good ones have full wave rectification with a stabilized current regulator. Many of the otherwise very effective chargers have half-wave rectifiers (i.e. they clip one half of the AC sine wave to emulate DC) and some of the less costly units rely on the internal resistance of the load to regulate the charge rate. Even if the current rating looks right, a charger with half-wave rectification and psuedo regulation will not drive an inductive load of like rating. The pumps are (were) probably fine - the fact that both do the same thing is a big clue. G --------------------------------- ALL-NEW Yahoo! Messenger - all new features - even more fun!
