Rick
I used a KR-2S turtle deck on my KR-2. It was not a good fit on the KR-2
because it was too long. The forward end fit the longerons but was too wide
for most of the length of the turtle deck. I split the turtle deck down the
center lengthwise and then cut a wedge from rear to front on both halves to
make it fit the longerons. I also cut off several inches of the rear
portion of the turtle deck but ended up with the back of the turtle deck
too high where it meets the tail feathers. I raised the forward end for
head clearance and built a riser for the longeron which tapered from about
3 inches at the front to 0 at the rear of the turtle deck. It was not an
easy job but it is doable. See
http://jackandsandycooper.com/canopytd.html for how I made it work.

> Boy the KR2-S pre-molded parts are a lot nicer than the KR-2 pre-molds
that I got with my 20 year-old project. However, I couldn’t figure out how
to make the KR2-S parts fit.

combination wouldn’t match up with my turtle deck (which is not yet
installed).

answer is to get the entire package and just shorten the end of the turtle
deck. Has anyone tried to make the new pre-molds work on an old boat?
