Orma, thanks for your help> Assuming that the direct read pressure gauge
agrees with VDO electric,...... I imagine the worse scenario would be the
wrong size bearings on the crank and/or cam shaft, and the lesser evil the
oil pump itself. Am I correct there? Years ago when I started this project I
did send the case and crank to a california shop recomended by other
builders. They returned the parts with new bearings to match the machining
or mic'ing they did.
 On second thought, if the oil pressure is normal at start up, the pump
would probably be okay?
