Barry,

I purchased a KR-2, finished very roughly, empty weight of 619 lbs, no gear
fairings, tricycle gear, blunt cowling (with bumps to clear plugs and engine
mounts), standard canopy and Diehl wing skins (longer). It has a
Continintal A65 (65 HP @ 2300 rpm) and a 3 blade Warp Drive tapered blade
58" prop set at 64.5" pitch. Static run up is 2200 rpm. Results after 16.5
hours at a total weight of about 890 lbs. are: economy cruise at 2000 rpm &
~3.5 gph is 121 mph, cruise at 2150 rpm & ~4.4 gph is 132 mph and flat out
at 2300 rpm & about 5.7 gph is 143 mph. With these numbers my "very rough"
KR-2 should do 157 mph with 85 HP or 176 mph with 120 HP.

Kitplanes annual kit review quotes KR-2 performance, 180 mph cruise, based
on a 76 hp VW 2100cc engine.
