NetHeads,

I originally sent the message below last night, but for some reason it never
made it, so here it is again.
--------------------

I just noticed that Ross's airplane never sold on ebay, due to a high bid of
only $3181. Interesting.

Today I did 5 takeoffs and landings in a Starduster Too. It's a world of
difference from the Champ! My taildragger instructor buddy tells me it's
probably a lot like a KR2, only lands hotter. That was a real blast,
and I greased several of them. I'm beginning to think I can pull this off,
and am definitely looking forward to it!

I spent the afternoon programming and tweaking my EIS (Engine Information
System), and now when I turn on the master, everything on the panel works.
I had to replace my Tiny Tach last week. While it's supposed to have an 8
year battery, I think mine made it about 4 before going blank, and had
turned a grand total of zero minutes, zero RPMs. The battery is not
replaceable, so they say.

If I could just bring myself to install the plug wire ends, an air filter
(which I'll have to design and fabricate), and throttle cable, it'd be
running right now. I can turn the switch to "start" and it turns over
nicely. I welded a boss for an oxygen sensor to the exhaust manifold too,
so I have now have an air/fuel ratio meter on the panel.

But I got diverted by the huge colony of bats living in my attic soffit and
put a few hours into remedying that crisis instead of finishing up. I wish
Mark Jones had been around to see all those bats buzzing my head. It looked
like something out of "The Birds"!

Regarding "fair warning", I enjoyed the visit, Mark, and I really think you
should lay off the booze....it's affecting your vision! You guys are going
to expect a lot now, but I promise you it's not that good. He just couldn't
see it very well because of the dull primer surface. I assure you, I've let
a lot of stuff slide that won't bear up under close examination.

Back to the TV, but first I think I'll slop on another cost of Rustoleum...
