Solo X/C to big bear. For those who arent familar with the LA basin the
airport is just under 7000'msl. I have flown there in a 150 in the past and
had no problems what so ever, but one particualar time I got some downdrafts
on my way up, the plane stuck at about 5,000MSL refusing to climb anymore.
Once I broke free of that downdraft it of course kept on putting up.
Point is, why would anyone want to fly an under powered airplane. Im not
calling the KR under powered, but 150fpm is just nerve wrecking.
