Thanks. Please send me some pictures to brian.kr...@engalt.com. I have a friend that may want to buy my cowl and I was also thinking of doing it in carbon fiber to save some weight also. I was thinking that I could put the two cowl halves together, coat the inside with mold release, cover the intake and prop holes, and fill it with the two part foam to make a plug that I could use for the carbon fiber cowl. Anyone ever done this before?

The corvair fits in the cowl fine. I did not mill the intakes off so I will have the bumps on top. I also used Mark Langford's drawing for a prop hub which is longer than WW's. But it could be made to fit with Williams hub. I made a copy of the Rand cowl using carbon fiber and shed about 12 lbs. from stock. I can send a picture if you would like.
