Tim,

These are educated guesses on my part but I'll put them out for
what they are worth.

Yes the venturie will be the most reliable way to drive the DG.
Do you really need a DG bad enough to hang a venturie out
there? Flying VFR only, it seems a mag compass and a
handheld GPS should get you there. I have three compasses
in the Tripacer, a mag compass, a DG, and a remote mounted
mag compass. I'd settle for a vertical card compass in the KR.

I think the DG might need a smaller venturie than an AH so
make sure you aren't installing more than you need. A
small vacuum gauge might be nice but probably not required.

As to mounting, it needs to be in a smooth flowing, high pressure
area. The shortest route for the hoses would be a mounting
on the forward side of the fuselage, between the cockpit and
the firewall. You probably won't pull enough vacuum to hurt
the instrument so a regulator is probably not required either
but a good filter holds a high priority.

My best advise is check with someone that knows what they
are talking about! :-)
