There are photos of my top mounted ruder pedals on my web page at
http://www.robert7721.com/Controls.html I have no issues with my setup. I have a trigear and use the heel brakes quite often at the same time as the pedals when needed. You need the brakes on take off since you have no rudder control till you get up some speed. Same on Landing. With the trigear you can hit the brakes as soon as you get the nose wheel down. My brakes are not the best as far as braking ability goes, these are the Great Planes brakes, not a lot of surface area on the brake pucks. Probably be more effective if I had some leverage on the heel brake instead of the straight push. But they work so I keep flying.
