There are a few at http://www.krnet.org/misc/toppedals/ . These are a bit
complicated, as pedals go, however. The photos are a bit disconcerting
because they're taken against concrete (not carpet) and most are upside down
(to simulate hanging from above).

I'm not wild about top-mounted pedals, but then I've never used them either,
so what do I know? It just seems a bit backwards, as you have limited
room, and I'd think your toes would articulate better than the rest of your
foot (as far as brake action goes), and that seems to work out best if floor
mounted and the pivoting part up high. Whatever floats your boat, however.

I wouldn't go for heel brakes either, but for absolute minimum weight,
that's probably the ticket. Seems like air in the masters would be more of
a problem though, even with a taildragger. And heel brakes would tend to
remove your toes from the "rudder" part of the pedal, while toe brakes are
more of a continuation of the rudder controls...just more of it.

Amazing how I'm on expert on things I've never tried! Donning Nomex
underwear now...
