They work fine, same geometry as mounted on the floor but don't get in the way of your heels when stretching out. Mount ot the bottom of the upper shelf with angles or channel material. I wouldn't have it any other way. Top or bottom, reinforce the 90 degree welds, especially the assembly for right rudder.
