(Samantha, Maureen; How many women are on this maillist? This is an incredibly
varied group from all over the world.)

To the question at hand: Builders of the BD-4 have been dealing with the need
to create new wing-skins because the panels provided with the kit were
polyester and meant to hold fuel. They didn't. Many made female half-molds out
of wire-cut foam, lined with hard-finished plastic sheet in which they molded
epoxy/glass skins . These are bonded to ribs and spar just like Diehl skins,
and retain the perfect finish of the plastic-lined mold. Elegant and wholey in
the spirit of the KR. Peter

________________________________ I must be missing something here but if you
set out on the long road to build an aircraft and that aircraft is of composite
construction why would you want to build it fron plywood and or alluminium ? If
your not happy with the composite technigues then build a Jodel or Thatcher
MarkAnd i wouldnt be comfortable putting screws into the main spar. That would
create a path for water to possibly get to the spar and weaken the
effectiveness of screws and the integrity of the spar.
