Measure it with a micrometer and cut it with an axe. Sorry, could not
help myself.

my son and I spent 10 hours yesterday with two plum bobs and a laser
straightening and tweaking my boat. At the end of the day I thought we
had it.
Today I was installing the diagonals at station "I" thinking that they
would be the same lengths. I made both of them. I couldn't believe one
was off by 1/2". As the day went on other this were off a little.
So my question is. How close is close enough? Do I need to use my
micrometer or is a tape measure ok.
