There is a misunderstanding here about my position, Ali: One of the things I mentioned before is that it is key to know who to reach in case of need. So, for instance, if one needs an approval to do something in particular, then s/he knows who to reach. Thus the need to have responsibilities spread among us and not being only to you. Many reasons justify such thing, including Timezones. This means that people don't need to report to you directly, unless there's a big thing coming up. And if that is the case, you'll be hearing from me or Svetlana, since we are the ones in such role. Besides, if you imagine 30-50 people working together, you won't do anything else in your daily life besides answering others queries, right? This situation allows you to be in control (assuming you trust your colleagues) and still actively develop any work, project or strategy.
Also, when I said I'd like to be in charge of management before, I was thinking about taking care of all management affairs - Strategy, Finance and Operations. So, within the group of Operations, these two should be added. HR is something I can do, but it's not my area of expertise. If we have people that can deal with people properly, makes sense to pass on this portfolio to them. @Jonathan, CTO's are within Sub-teams Managers. These should coordinate their team work more effectively. Sooner or later these will have to be split in another criteria since we'll have people working from around the world. But, for the time being, I think this method is sufficient to get things done. My position in Operations does collaborate regularly with this group of people since the intention is to try to fulfil all dates and deadlines that costumers will put on our shoulders. Other than that, being responsible for the financial department, I can control a huge amount of indicators and also the cash in and outflows. Just a reminder: These are internal positions and the key here is for everyone know who to reach in case of need. Most of us still have external positions. For instance, for the time being, Jonathan and Israel are developers, so they don't actively contribute to the management of Kibo. A new designer will be in the same position as well. I agree with this structure. However, I think these notes are very important. Having people in charge of something is crucial in business to get things rolling and to avoid the waste of time deciding over something. Many heads putting their thoughts over something might not be great. It's an economics principle actually - Law of the diminishing returns. Probably the election of these members wasn't democratic, but I think it is enough for now and fair. Some of us have busy lives and while we can't afford fix payments to our people, then it makes sense (to me) to distribute responsibilities among those who can contribute more regularly than others.
