Mr Thiagarajan The type of communal harmony you have talked that exists in Tamil Nadu is solely because of Hindu majority. And it is common place all over in India
However this type of communal harmony simply does not exist when Muslims are in majority and Hindus in minority. Eg in Pakistan, Bangladesh, Kashmir where Hindus are near decimation and enjoy no such harmony with the majority Muslim communities there. Police said a group, including students, of East Coast Christian Matriculation School in Neelankarai had come on a tour to Udhagamandalam and the city on Tuesday night and parked their vehicle at Corporation grounds on Crosscut road. As the students and some teachers left for shopping, the five persons started distributing pamphlets "propagating" Christianity and reportedly "denigrating" Hindu Gods, they said. Some BJP and Hindu Makkal Katchi activists came at the spot and handed them over to police demanding registration of non-bailable case of attempt to create communal hatred, police said. They were produced before a court on Wednesday afternoon and sent to 15-day judicial remand, they said. Meanwhile, the students and some teachers, who returned from shopping, were later sent to Udhagamandalam and from there they had left for Chennai, they added.
