After the abuse I took on linux.mit.edu #linux the other night, I can
understand why.  (No, Alan was not there.)  

I also had someone call me an "uppity bitch" the other day in a
"discussion" over the relative merits of using Javascript to validate
user input on Web forms (I claimed that you have to validate the data
at the server anyway because you can't trust the user's client to
behave; he said that this was ridiculous).  I suspect he assumed that
because I'm female I don't code....  Sigh.
