Forgive me for being slightly off-topic on this one, but while I've been
reading all the comments on this thread, I've been constantly remembering a
conversation I had with my sister a year or so ago, in reference to her
boyfriend's X-rated screen saver... and giggling. So I thought I'd share it
with you...

I was sitting there, just sort of blankly staring at their computer screen,
and the screen saver popped up. A naked woman! I was startled, I didn't
think my sister would appreciate that sort of thing... then it changed.
Another naked woman! I was thinking "Wow, he's got these naked women just
sort of cycling on the screen, and she doesn't mind?"

When I asked her about it, she just looked at me and said "No, it doesn't
bother me. I figure... the chances of Spencer actually getting a chance to
date or even TALK to one of those women is pretty minimal, and on the off
chance that he DID, there's no way in hell he'd know what to do with them
anyway." *grin*

Seriously, though... I'm sure that the random porn in these themes is making
some women feel alienated. If the theme is all about porn, I guess that's
one thing - there is that demographic that just loves that sort of thing....
but to display a beautiful but not-quite-so-clothed woman in an otherwise
benign theme for the sake of shock value isn't really necessary. I'm glad
this has been brought up and discussed, it's something I had just sort of
accepted and not really thought too deeply about. It's not anywhere near
the sort of alienation of women I ran into when I was into carpentry and
welding... but it is there.
