Why not just merge in all the useful stuff from both into io1uake3, and make 
ioQuake3 compatible with rtcw and wolf:et?

This is great news indeed! I thought you were talking about ETQW, but
it's only (but good enough) ET _Wolfstein_. These games are based
on ID Tech 3, just like Quake 3, which is already open-source. Quake 3
was releashed in 1999, RTCW in 2001 and ET in 2003. Had ID really
improved their v3 engine during these 4 years?
