This lack of information is one of the causes of what I hate about
OpenSolaris. Lack of actual information from Oracle has lead to so many
rumors going about what Oracle is planning/plotting but it normally is
all speculative and sometimes just wrong.
The cynic may say this is precisely working as Oracle wants, as the
cynics think that Oracle want to kill off OpenSolaris and want better
way than destroy the community.
To be more generous to Oracle, may be they have misjudged the community
Sun had built up and haven't realised there may be a problem if they are
to apply their standard way of working on the existing community.
My suggestion would be Oracle makes some clear statements of what they
intend to do/how they intend to proceed with OpenSolaris and so stop
some of the rumors dead.

That of course begs the question when is the production release due out.
The lack of information coming out of Oracle is deafening.
I wonder how long it is before people start reading the worse into that and
start drifting away.
I would be interested to see if there is a fall off in posts from non-Oracle
employees to the various forums.
A while ago I got a call from a reseller asking if I was interested in
"Sun-ish" storage solutions and I said it was unlikely we would look at them
until we knew what Oracles long term plans were!
