dear sanjeev, thanks again, for your insights and responses. so your responses confirm what i had been thinking: taxation in absolute terms is supposed to be on the principals you mentioned, but the overall reality forces of democracy, uruguay, gatt, WTO, bring in a 'reality-distortion field' anyways.
so stripped off the economic mumbo jumbo and emperical methods of implementation, it boils down to someone's priviliged powers (sovereignity) versus another's (voting power, WTO, MNC lobbying through trade organizations, etc...) and whatever the result of these balance of powers, is the yoke we carry as tax-payers. am i correct? ?
