Try this ... when the GRUB screen shows up ... press 'c' to get the
grub prompt. Then write the following commands in this sequence ...
root (hd0,5) <hit the enter key>
kernel=/boot/vmlinuz ro root=/dev/hda6 <hit the enter key again>
boot <enter .. duh>

Try ... if it works ... problem solved ... if not ... post the problem again
with the error messages. Incase it works ... apply the above changes to
/boot/grub/menu.lst file.
